We’re delighted to support the launch of the Tullie House Youth Panel map app of Carlisle City on the 27th October 2015 – Gareth Presch
TULLIE HOUSE YOUTH PANEL APP LAUNCH
The recently re-branded Tullie House Youth Panel is excited to be launching their new augmented reality map of the city’s Historic Quarter. Their aim is to encourage visitors to the city to take the ‘cultural crawl’ from the train station to some of Carlisle’s historic gems!
They have used this modern technology so people can use their smart-phones to scan the pictures on the map, and through the new and free Tullie House App the photographs on the page come to life as videos of THe Youth Panel ‘on location’ across the city. This gives people a sneak preview of what to expect if they are visiting Carlisle, and will hopefully entice more visitors from across the county.
The young people spent time with representatives at the Citadel Station, the Guildhall, the Cathedral, Tullie House Museum, and the Castle to discover some lesser-known facts that they could share to get people intrigued about Carlisle’s history.
The App has extra features including animations, and an igallery that shows some pictures of old Carlisle, alongside how it now looks in 2015.
We are inviting people to join us to celebrate the work of these young cultural ambassadors, and to see a demonstration of how their new map works.
A selection of drinks and nibbles will be provided to celebrate the launch.
